ZO-E-Shield
Comfort That Makes Sense
- In the winter, Zo.e.shield glass surfaces reflect heat back into a room.
- Zo.e.shield glass makes it easy to keep rooms warmer and more comfortable, as well as save money.
- Typically, 75% of exposed window or patio door surfaces are glass.
- Room-side glass temperature directly affects air temperature inside a room, and warmer surfaces make it easier to control and maintain the air's relative humidity.
- U-Values represent the amount of heat escaping within an hour's time through a window or door. The lower the U-Value, the more energy efficient a unit is.
Let The Sun Shine In
- Zo.e.shield glass rejects the summer sun's heat and harsh rays.
- Windows with high solar heat gain contribute to more than 50% of air-conditioning costs.
- Zo.e.shield reduces window heat gain by 75%, while providing up to 65% of visible light, compared to ordinary glass.
- Unlike tinted glass, which can block daylight or color outside views, Zo.e.shield glass remains much clearer.
- Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) measures how well a window or door blocks the heat generated from sunlight. The lower the value, the less solar heat the glazing system allows through.
Comfort All Around
Looking for even more savings on the next home you build or remodel? A new energy bill offers a tax credit incentive for choosing ENERGY STAR-approved products when making home improvements from January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2007.
Homeowners upgrading to energy-efficient windows receive a tax credit for 10% of the purchase up to $200. Builders earn a credit up to $2,000 for homes saving at least 50% in energy, and $1,000 for an ENERGY STAR home.
Documents required to receive the tax credit* for windows: 1. Window purchase receipts. 2. ENERGY STAR/NFRC labels from each of the windows installed. * Installation costs are not included in the credit. For more information, please visit www.energystar.gov/taxcredits.
Clearly Easier Maintenance
In a new home, daylight pours in through pristinely clear windows and doors. Dust, grime and other residues build up on the glass over time making it often difficult and time-consuming to keep glass clean. Zo.e.shield offers relief with EasyCareT glass, featuring a thin coating on the exterior surface of glass, that resists dirt and causes water to "sheet off" rather than "cling" to it. Water spreads out and evaporates quickly for fewer spots and less washing.
Sunscreen For Your Home
Zo.e.shield glazing systems can protect your home's interior from 95% to 99.9% of harmful UV-A and UV-B radiation to help reduce the detrimental fading effect on draperies, furniture, floors and artwork. Now that's protection you can count on.
Natural light brings positive energy to a room that can help brighten a mood and your environment. In order to achieve effective insulating values, other glazings often sacrifice on the amount of visible light in a home. Zo.e.shield can provide up to 65% of the visible light transmittance for maintaining healthier levels of natural light, without compromising on thermal performance.
Our exclusive Zo.e.shield glazing systems feature Multiple Layers of Low-e coatings that filter out the light spectrum's heat transmission, to optimize the sun's heat and a home's heating/cooling systems.
